About Beth

Beth Falk, ACS CCP

Beth Falk is an experienced eater and a passionate teacher. Her mission: cultivating community through food, farms, and flavor.

In a prevous lifetime, Beth worked as an environmental lawyer with a focus on land conservation and sustainable agriculture. Cheese turns out to involve those issues and more, so she happily evolved from litigator to cheesemonger. She founded and managed Mill City Cheesemongers in Lowell, Massachusetts in 2016. Beth placed in the top 10 competitors in the 2017 and 2018 Cheesemonger Invitational and traveled to Switzerland in 2019 as winner of the “Adopt-An-Alp” competition sponsored by Cheeses of Switzerland and Quality Cheese.

In the summer of 2023, Beth closed her retail shop in order to enroll in a graduate program in Sustainable Food Systems at Harvard University Extension School. Beth continues to offer guided cheese tastings and virtual education in cheese, wine, and food science.

Beth is the former Executive Director and current Advisory Board Member of the Massachusetts Cheese Guild, and she loves to talk about cheese trivia and culinary history. Apart from cheese, her favorite things are exploring the Maine coast, learning about architecture and design, and spending time with animals.
